Meet Dr. Scott Ellsworth, Orthopedic Surgeon
I’m an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of shoulder and elbow conditions. I joined Dickson-Diveley Orthopedics in August 2019 shortly after I concluded my fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
I’ve always been really drawn to the people of the Midwest. I love their good values and the good people that are here. I’m excited to be part of the community in Kansas City.
In orthopedics, I love how we’re able to impact people’s lives in a very quick manner and see results quickly. That’s always been very gratifying to me.
The shoulder is one of the more complex joints in the body. Because of that, I’ve always been drawn to it. It’s very gratifying when I have someone come into the office who can hardly lift their arm above their head, can’t play catch with their son or daughter, and they come back after we’ve treated them and they’re back to doing the things they love to do.
It’s very important to provide personalized care when it comes to shoulder treatment. Everyone is a little bit different in what they want to get out of their shoulder and how they use it. Everyone has different priorities, and it’s my job as a surgeon to not only diagnose what’s going on, but to figure out what their goals are in treatment and to work together to form a treatment plan that will make us both happy.
